Tanning: The selected leather is first tanned to make it more durable and prepare it for the patent process. The tanning process can vary depending on the type of leather, but it generally involves treating the hide with chemicals to stabilize and strengthen it.

Finishing: After tanning, the leather undergoes a finishing process to create the distinctive shiny and glossy surface of patent leather. This process usually involves several steps:

Dyeing: The leather is dyed to achieve the desired color. Black is a common color for patent leather, but it can be dyed in different shades.

Coating: The leather is coated with several layers of a special glossy finish. The finish is usually some type of polyurethane or acrylic coating that gives the leather its characteristic sheen.
