Description tanning process:Â
This leather is specially made on full cattle hides to the highest Italian finishing standards, aimed at preserving the item's natural look and producing a pleasant, friendly, full grip. The impressive range of colors gives this supple article tremendous flexibility of use.
Origin
This leather is made on carefully selected wet blue hides sourced from South American cattle. The tanning process is carried out using a unique recipe to give the finished item a wonderfully stable and pleasant feel. This breed of animal bears a typical hump in the shoulder area, something that is taken into account and carefully eliminated during the tanning and finishing process. The tannery uses the most advanced technologies and innovative chemicals that reflect world norms and standards about safety. After washing the wet blue hides to soften them a bit, they go to the next step of splitting and planing. Here the skins are brought to the desired thickness. (1.3 mm. - 1.5 mm.). Now begins the retanning phase, consisting of several washing cycles, greasing the skins to soften the dermis and then the delicate phase of staining the skins.
After achieving the desired color, the firmer skin is washed and pressed to begin the drying cycles. The Piamonte article is stretched to dry. The skins are stuccoed and strained to even out the grain and remove imperfections that may adversely affect selection. Once the stuccing and planing are finished, the real finishing phase is activated, in which the grain is rolled onto the hide by a mechanical roller, with the typical "corona" print that characterizes our Piamonte article. After this, the skins are allowed to rest for a few hours, then the final phase of selection, trimming, measuring and preparations for shipments begins.
